What is Peppermint essential oil
Peppermint is a cross between water mint and spearmint plants. It is one of my favorites and my go-to oil for all of its benefits and uses.
Peppermint is known for its cooling, uplifting and relaxing properties. This is due to its main chemical component of menthol. Because of the menthol it is sensitive oil, and it has some warming properties when it is applied directly to your skin. Some people might have sensitive skin so I would recommend diluting it with a drop or two of fractionated coconut oil at first until you determine your skin sensitivity.
Peppermint promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing. It helps by opening sinuses and airways.

Bug and Rodent Deterrant
It is a spider and bug deterrent. Add a few drops to a cotton ball and place in areas where you have noticed spiders and bugs, usually corners of the room. You can also make a bug spray using only a few drops of oil and water in a glass spray bottle and spray in corners and hard to reach places.
I’ve also heard Peppermint can deter mice, but our mice seem to really like it and who it to blame them? They have taken my cotton balls and have probably eaten them!
